Welcome to Communication in Healthcare,
one of several educational programmes at
www.HealthcareSkills.nhs.uk, which offers
educational opportunities to address the
essential learning needs of healthcare
professionals from all disciplines. The
London Deanery recommends this
programme for supporting learning
for the Foundation years of
Modernising Medical Careers (MMC).

The aims of this course are to:

  • create an awareness of the need
    for good communication skills in
    providing patient care and delivering
    more effective care
  • provide an understanding of the
    principles of good communication
  • demonstrate some of the important
    communication skills required of
    healthcare professionals
  • improve the personal communication
    skills of healthcare professionals
The course is highly interactive. It gives
demonstrations of good communication
behaviours and also offers opportunities to
compare your views on a range of issues
directly with the views of other healthcare
professionals.
